Sand or metal? How many panels?
Sand-filled 8-panel bags are soft, slow and forgiving - the easiest to kick and the right place to start. That is the Starter Footbag. Metal-filled 32-panel bags hold their shape, sit dead on the stall and are what professional footbag players compete with - that is the Pro Footbag.
More panels means a rounder bag and a more predictable bounce.

If you are buying elsewhere, look for a sand-filled suede bag with 8 to 32 panels - a plastic-pellet bag from a general store bounces and rolls, and it makes the first month harder than it needs to be.
1. Start with the inside kick - the bag comes off the flat inside of your foot, not the toe.
2. Add the outside kick, then the toe.
3. Learn the stall: meet the bag and drop with it, do not hit it.
4. Link two kicks, then three.
