How to freestyle football and learn tricks
From your first kick to double Around the Worlds. Taught by pro performer Honza Weber.
What is freestyle football?
Freestyle football is keeping a ball in the air with your feet, knees, chest, shoulders, or head. No hands.
It is not the game. No goals. What matters are the tricks. It combines music, dance, acrobatics and soccer.

Street football tricks
Not every trick is for show. Street tricks get you past a defender. Dekes and ground moves, played in a real match, a 1v1 or a street soccer cage. The one everyone chases is the panna - putting the ball through your opponent's legs.

Freestyle soccer questions
The toe kick, and it is the first one on the list above. You are just keeping the ball up off one foot. Once that is steady, alternating toe kicks is the same thing with both feet.
Any ball will do for your first kicks. A freestyle ball has extra grip, which starts to matter the moment you try to stall it rather than kick it. The Freestyle Soccer Ball is 39,99 €, or 44,99 € with a carry bag as the Starter Set.
Not to start. You can use football shoes or any sport shoes you kick well in. Once you get to Around the World and the advanced tricks you need consistency. Quantum shoes have big kicking areas shaped for clean kicks and stalls, plus a lightweight flat sole.
If you already have some skills from regular football, you will progress fast. If you are a complete beginner, getting controlled kicks takes several sessions.
After that it depends on how hard you practise, but Around the World is doable within weeks or a month.
It makes you better with the ball. Touch, balance and using both feet all come out of freestyle and they carry into a match. The tricks themselves mostly do not - an Around the World is not going to beat a defender. The street football tricks in the app are the ones that cross over.
Yes. You need a ball and a bit of space, and that is it.
The hard part is not how to learn - the internet is full of tutorials. It is knowing what to learn and in what order. That is what the SkillAddicts app gives you: pro performer Honza Weber's structured path from your first kick to pro football skills, with a video for every trick. Free.
Work the list on this page in order. It is a progression - the kicks teach the touch the flicks need, and the stalls are what make Around the World possible. Most people get stuck because they jump ahead.
There is a real competitive scene. The World Freestyle Football Association runs the sport, and Red Bull Street Style and Super Ball are the championships people aim for. Before any of that it is the same list on this page - the pro tier is where the competitors live.
