Terms & conditions

You are a consumer if you are buying for purposes outside your trade, business or profession. Consumers have rights under EU and Czech law that cannot be signed away, and nothing in these terms limits them.

We sell to consumers. We do not currently sell wholesale or on business terms.

1. You add products to your cart and go to checkout.
2. You confirm your order and accept these terms.
3. We send you an order confirmation by email.

The contract is formed when we send that confirmation email. The email is your durable record of the contract and includes what you ordered, what you paid, your right to withdraw, and the withdrawal form.

We may refuse an order if the product is out of stock, the price was displayed incorrectly, or we cannot deliver to your address. If we do, we tell you and refund anything you have paid.

Prices are shown in euros or US dollars, depending on the currency you select. The price is the same wherever you are in the world.

Prices include VAT where it applies. Delivery is charged separately unless your order qualifies for free delivery.

We accept cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, Klarna, SEPA Direct Debit, and local bank payment methods where they are available in your country. You can also pay by cash or card when you collect an order from our Prague store.

Payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal. We never see or store your card details.

We ship worldwide from our warehouse in Prague. Orders leave our warehouse within 24 hours of being placed.

Delivery times, prices and carriers are on our shipping page. Times are estimates, not guarantees.

Risk passes to you when the parcel is delivered to you or to someone you have asked to receive it.

Orders shipped outside the EU may be subject to customs duties and import taxes, which are paid by the recipient. The exception is USPS deliveries to the USA, where import duties are included in the price you pay.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving any reason.

How to withdraw. Tell us before the 14 days are up, by email to info@skilladdicts.com or using the withdrawal form. Then send the goods back without undue delay.

What we refund. Everything you paid, including the standard delivery cost of sending the goods to you. If you chose a more expensive delivery method than our cheapest standard option, we refund the standard cost only.

Who pays return postage. You do, unless the goods are faulty or we sent the wrong item.

When. We refund within 14 days of being told you are withdrawing, though we may wait until the goods reach us or you show they have been sent.

Handling the goods. You may handle and test the goods as you would in a shop - throwing a yoyo a few times to see how it feels is fine. If you reduce their value by handling them beyond that, we may deduct the difference from your refund.

On top of the legal withdrawal right, we give you 30 days from delivery to return anything you have bought.

The item needs to come back in its original condition - trying it is fine, but weeks of use, broken or missing parts are not.

Cannot be returned: App Rewards bought with Skill Coins, SkillAddicts PLUS subscriptions, socks, and clothing that has been worn or washed.

You pay return postage, or bring it to our Prague store for free. We refund within 7 days of receiving the return.

If something we sold you is faulty, you have rights under Czech and EU law for 2 years from delivery. Depending on the fault, that can mean repair, replacement, a price reduction or a refund.

We cover shipping both ways on a genuine fault.

Our warranty covers manufacturing defects under normal play. It does not cover parts that wear out with normal use - strings on any product, and paint wear on kendamas - or damage from misuse, abuse or modifying the product.

We publish reviews from customers. A review is marked as verified when the account posting it has bought that product from us. We do not pay for reviews, and we do not remove negative reviews because they are negative.

We may remove reviews that break the rules in section 11.

You need an account to use the app. Keep your password confidential - you are responsible for everything done through your account.

We may change or reclaim a username that is inappropriate, obscene or otherwise objectionable.

The app is for users aged 13 and over.

In some countries, users below a certain age need a parent or guardian’s permission for their personal data to be processed - 15 in Czechia, and up to 16 in some EU countries. If you are under that age in your country, it is your responsibility to get your parent or guardian’s permission before using the app.

We do not verify age at registration. If we find out a user is below the age at which they can use the app or consent on their own, we will ask for parental permission or close the account.

You agree not to:

Account rules

• Create or use more than one account on the SkillAddicts platform. Multiple accounts create unfair advantages, allow abuse of resources and manipulation of system features, and compromise the experience for other users.
• Share a single account with other people.
• Sell or transfer your account or profile.

Fair play

• Impersonate another person, use another person’s video or content, or let anyone else upload videos or play on your behalf. This undermines the authenticity and fairness of the game.
• Exchange Skill Coins or Coin codes with other users in any way other than what the game itself allows, or outside the platform. Using multiple accounts to accumulate Skill Coins is strictly prohibited.

Content rules

• Upload videos showing alcohol, cigarettes, vapes or drugs.
• Use swearing, hate speech, or language that attacks anyone on the basis of race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, religion or disability.
• Wear inappropriate clothing in videos. Clothing must be modest and appropriate at all times - no tight underwear or revealing outfits. Our platform is used by children as well as adults, and we want it to stay a respectful place for everyone.
• Post content that is obscene, violent, harassing, defamatory or otherwise objectionable.
• Harass, abuse, intimidate or threaten other users or our team.

Technical rules

• Use bots, scripts, scrapers or any automated system to access the site or app.
• Systematically collect data or content from the site to build a database or directory.
• Interfere with security features, or attempt to bypass access restrictions.
• Upload viruses or anything designed to disrupt the site or app.
• Decompile, reverse engineer or copy our software, except where the law allows it.
• Use the site or app to advertise, to sell goods or services, or to compete with us.

Breaking these rules can mean your content is removed, your Skill Coins are removed, or your account is suspended or closed.

When you upload a video, photo, comment or anything else (“contributions”), you confirm that:

• You created it, or you have the rights and permissions to share it.
• Everyone identifiable in it has agreed to appear.
• It does not infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark or other rights.
• It does not break any law, and it follows the rules in section 11.

You keep ownership of everything you upload.

By uploading contributions, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, copy, display, reformat, translate and distribute them:

• in the SkillAddicts app and on skilladdicts.com, including on product pages and marketing pages
• on our social media channels
• in our marketing and promotional materials

This includes your image and voice as they appear in the content.

You can delete your contributions at any time. If you do, we stop using them going forward, though copies may remain in material already published or cached.

All content in the app is moderated by our team. We may edit, re-categorise or remove any contribution, at any time, without notice - including content that breaks section 11.

If your content is removed or your account is restricted, you can contact us at info@skilladdicts.com to ask why and to challenge the decision.

Skill Coins are points inside the SkillAddicts app. You earn them by landing tricks, judging other players’ submissions, creating tricks and levelling up.

• Skill Coins are not money. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be bought.
• They do not expire.
• They cannot be transferred between accounts or traded with other users, except in the ways the app itself allows.
• They can be spent on App Rewards in our shop, and on features inside the app.
• If you close your account, your Skill Coins are lost.
• We may remove Skill Coins earned by breaking the rules in section 11.

We do not remove Skill Coins that have been earned fairly. If we change how tricks or ladders work, Coins you have already earned stay yours.

App Rewards are physical products bought with Skill Coins rather than money. Nothing is charged for the product itself.

You pay for shipping, unless you collect the reward from our Prague store.

App Rewards cannot be returned or refunded, and are not covered by our 2 year warranty.

SkillAddicts PLUS is an optional paid subscription that adds features to the app.

If you subscribe through our website, the subscription does not renew automatically. It runs for the period you paid for and then stops.

If you subscribe through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store handles your payment, renewal and cancellation under its own terms. Subscriptions bought there renew automatically until you cancel them in your account settings with Apple or Google. We cannot cancel or refund those subscriptions - you need to do that through the store.

We grant you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the SkillAddicts app on devices you own or control, for your own personal use.

You may not modify the app, create derivative works from it, remove proprietary notices, use it commercially, or use it to build a competing product.

Apple and Google. When you get the app from the App Store or Google Play:

• The licence is limited to devices running iOS or Android, in line with that store’s terms of service.
• We provide support for the app, not Apple or Google.
• If the app fails to meet a warranty, you can tell the store, which may refund the purchase price under its own policies.
• You must follow the store’s terms when using the app.
• Apple and Google are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce it.

You can link your SkillAddicts account to accounts you hold with other services. If you do, we may access and store content from that account so it is available through the app, and send information to it.

Your relationship with those services is governed by your agreement with them, not by us. You can unlink at any time in your account settings.

We do not guarantee the site or app will always be available. We may need to carry out maintenance, and we may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time.

We are not liable for losses caused by the site or app being unavailable, except where the law says otherwise.

The site, the app, and everything in them - software, design, text, photographs, video, graphics, trademarks and logos - belong to us or are licensed to us, and are protected by copyright and trademark law.

You may view and use the site and app for your personal, non-commercial use. Everything else needs our written permission.

This does not affect your ownership of what you upload, which is covered by sections 12 and 13.

How we handle your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Our site and app are operated from Czechia. If you use them from elsewhere, your data is transferred to and processed in Czechia.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

We are liable for foreseeable loss caused by us breaking these terms. We are not liable for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses if you are using the site or app for business purposes.

If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.

If you break these terms and that causes us loss - for example a claim from someone whose content you uploaded without permission - you are responsible for that loss.

Talk to us first. Email info@skilladdicts.com and we will try to sort it out. Most things are resolved in a few days.

Out-of-court resolution. If you are a consumer and we cannot resolve your complaint, you can take it to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority:

This is free and does not stop you going to court.

These terms are governed by Czech law. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

The courts of Prague, Czech Republic have jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer living in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country’s law, and you can bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live.

We may change these terms. If we do, we update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

Changes do not apply retrospectively to orders already placed. If a change materially affects your rights as a subscriber to SkillAddicts PLUS, we will tell you before it takes effect.

If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the rest still applies.

If we do not enforce a right straight away, that does not mean we have given it up.

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another company. Your rights are not affected.

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us.
