The trick in steps
- Grab the strings
Start in Trapeze and Brother. With the palm of your throw hand facing up, curl your fingers in to grab the strings.
- Swing your wrist
As you drop the slack from your non-throw hand, turn slightly to the side and swing out with your wrist, then in between your arm and body.
- Repeat the motion
Keep moving the yoyo and the slack out and then back in. Repeat as many times as you like.
- Catch, unfold and bind
Catch the slack with your non-throw hand as the motion swings out to the front. Then unfold the string and bind to return the yoyo to your hand.
Tips
- Pinch the string with your throw hand thumb and index finger
- Move the yoyo as close to your wrist as possible
- Catch the slack and end in Brother Mount
- Catch the slack soon enough, before it drops and hangs loosely
Common mistakes
- Tangled string
- Not catching the slack
- Dropping the slack into the yoyo
- Making the motion too wide and not keeping the yoyo close to your hand
