Boingy Boing is the trick everybody wants to learn, and one of the sharpest looking in yoyoing. The key is moving your hand up and down, not forward and backwards.

The trick in steps
- Get into Split Bottom Mount
Start with a Split Bottom Mount.
- Bounce the yoyo
Keep your non-throw hand still and move your throw hand straight up and down. The speed does not matter, but the rhythm has to stay consistent.
- Unfold and bind
Once you have repeated the motion a few times, unfold the string and bind.
Tips
- Keep the rhythm
- Bounce the yoyo by moving your throw hand up and down
- Both the forward and the backward move of the yoyo need to be active
- Dismount and bind properly
Common mistakes
- Moving your throw hand forwards and backwards
- Forcing the yoyo to move back and forth
- Letting the yoyo drop back instead of moving your hands with it
