Gyroscopic Flop Yoyo
Gyroscopic Flop looks like it is breaking the laws of physics. Isaac Newton would want a closer look at this one.
The trick in steps
- Start in a Houdini Mount
Begin in a Houdini Mount. It is a Double or Nothing, but with the string on your non-throw hand thumb instead of your index finger.
- Move to the middle finger
Move onto the string on your middle finger and drop the string on your thumb.
- Pop the yoyo off
Pop the yoyo off the string towards you.
- Grab the strings
Turn your hands towards you and curl your fingers to grab the strings.
- Pull apart and flip
Pull your hands apart and flip the yoyo over once, pressing harder with your non-throw hand. That gives you more control over how the yoyo flips.
- Unfold and bind
Unfold the strings and do a Frontstyle Bind.
Tips
- Catch the first string on your non-throw hand thumb
- Move your throw hand slightly forward to make the flop faster
- Bind in the correct direction
Common mistakes
- Using too much force to pull the strings and flip the yoyo
- Binding in the wrong direction
