The trick in steps
- Throw strong and sideways
Throw down and sideways with a strong spin. The more horizontal the throw, the better.
- Catch the fingerspin
Aim for the center of the yoyo. Lock your non-throw hand finger in the middle of the yoyo and keep that finger slightly relaxed. You can use two fingers if your yoyo has a flat surface.
- Create the DNA effect
With the yoyo spinning on your finger, whip the string around it as if you were going for the bind. As soon as the string catches the yoyo, pull your throw hand straight up. The string spins around the yoyo and creates the DNA effect.
- Hold your hand up
Keep the yoyo spinning on your finger and keep your throw hand up, right above the yoyo. Move your hand slowly closer to the yoyo and the string winds up.
